"Wine People"
Teliani Collection, a new project by Teliani Valley - Limited edition of rare wines, produced by artisan winemakers, made from exceptional Georgian grape varieties, for wine lovers and enthusiasts. Throughout the year, a brand of this project called "Wine People" will present various collections of unique and exciting wines.
Each bottle by Wine People will introduce winemakers and their stories. Collections will be available at Wine shops in Georgia starting from next week.
First Collections consists of 10 winemakers:
Rkatsiteli White Dry 2017 and 2018 by Aliosha Kapanadze
Made in qvevri by Aliosha Kapanadze (known his whole life as Al Capone ), a mechanical engineer now returned to the family tradition of winemaking.
Chinebuli by Nika Chochishvili
Handmade in qvevri by Nika Chochishvili, a 42-year-old military logistician descended from a family of winemakers. He makes wines with his friend Giorgi Cherkezishvili.
Rkatsiteli and Asuretuli Shala by Levan Bandzeladze
Made in qvevri by Levan Bandzeladze, a 37-year-old auditor from Bolnisi with a side line in winemaking since he was 18 years old.
Rkatsiteli by Avtandil Ugrekhelidze
Made in qvevri by Avtandil Ugrekhelidze, a 35 years old doctor from a winemaking family. Avtandil started making wine naturally in qvevri from 2015, and his family are developing their 1.5-hectare vineyard to grow the rare Asuretuli Shavi grape alongside Rkatsiteli and Saperavi.
Asuretuli Shavi by Gocha Liparteliani
Gocha Liparteliani, a 43 year old economist turned winemaker from Bolnisi, made wine from grapes that he cultivated in the village of Kianeti.
Tavkveri by Vakhtang Chagelishvili
Handmade in qvevri, by Vakhtang Chagelishvili, a 38 year old engineering ecologist from a family of winemakers in Bolnisi, a region of Georgia where wine has been made since 6th C BC.
Saperavi by Gia Devnozashvili
Lovingly made in his 14 qvevri cellar by Gia Devnozashvili, a lawyer by day, and a winemaker by night. By being able to bring his wines to the world Gia and his family have the opportunity to develop and grow their winery.
Saperavi by ‘Mama Makari’
Reverently made inside a monastery a 30 year old monk known in Georgian as ‘Mama Makari’.
